YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Our client is seeking a PCT Engineering Manager for our strategic manufacturing site in

Baytown, Texas. The PCT Engineering Manager will develop and provide PCT

(instrumentation, electrical, control systems) discipline engineering resources and project

management for capital projects for our chemical manufacturing facilities.

Major Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate high level of facilitation skills to reach consensus works toward win-win

solutions for business benefit.

• Support recruiting, manage and develops personnel

• Increase skills of the PCT project engineering discipline responsible for training and

development of employees.

• Assure quality, cost and schedule of PCT project engineering within assigned area of

responsibility.

• Meet business expectations, continuously improve process technology or capital process

through improved productivity and quality, in consultation with internal departments and

external resources.

• Manage the necessary PCT project engineering discipline resources and sui

technology to manufacture products in accordance with the safety, environmental, regulatory

and business goals and standards.

• Rotational developmental assignment to further strengthen leadership and increase network

between countries or business groups.

• Lead teams to analyze and define PCT improvement opportunities.

• Coordinate interfacing with other engineering disciplines, operations, and maintenance and

external engineering providers.

The incumbent is involved in problem solving decisions on a daily basis. Major areas are:

• Responsible for assessing of alternative solutions, coordinates complex problem

assignments.

• Strong technical expertise and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

• Flexibility with assignments in different units/plants/sites.

• Assessment and recommendation for the application of new technology.

• Enforcing the adherence to standards and guidelines especially related to PCT

documentation, configuration conventions, and testing. Approval for deviations.

• Identification of customer’s requirements and negotiation of the best cost/benefit solution.

• Special studies to evaluate new equipment or engineering tools for the project or PCT

department.

Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written skills in order to communicate with and obtain cooperation from

team members involved with engineering, design, check out, commissioning and start-up.

Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive technical and scope documents required for

project execution

• Willingness and ability to travel 20-40% of time when job assignment dictates

• Willingness and ability to work additional hours when job assignment dictates

• Willing to pursue advanced education (i.e. Master’s Degree) other certifications, and

training when job assignment dictates.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Submission Summary)

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university (or equivalent) in Electrical or Chemical Engineering with 10+ years of experience or Master’s Degree and 8+ years of experience or PhD and 6+ years of experience.

With strong interest in instrumentation process controls and / or power generation/distribution systems

Six and more years minimum experience in chemical, industrial or pharmaceutical facilities in PCT design and engineering or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional registration and/or certification as appropriate.

Good knowledge of safety system documentation, automation validation, quality assurance,etc.

Good knowledge of process control strategies and systems

Good knowledge of low/medium/high voltage electrical systems

Strong computer hardware and software skills

Excellent knowledge of relevant national and international standards in the area of

instrumentation & electrical (i.e. NEC, IEC, etc.)

Excellent knowledge of project control skills including project planning, scheduling, cost control, and contract development

• Good knowledge in providing field support and participating in check out, commissioning, and start-up of process control installations

Systematic approach to problem definition and solution development

Ability to build cross-functional teams and to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to deal with people at different levels of management, engineering and design, and with internal customers (e.g. engineering, maintenance, operations) and suppliers of electrical material and services

Present Salary?

16. Salary Expectation? (Salary range: Min $115k,Max $165k)
