Job Summary:

The position is responsible for research and analysis as well as execution of special projects in support of operational excellence with limited guidance from managers and project leads. The role also will work with managers to develop strategic plans and process improvement initiatives in support of Operations from developing strategic frameworks to designing and monitoring execution imperatives.

Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis

Works with Senior Management to develop and carry out overall annual strategic plans, vision and values.

Assists in development and implementation of process and workflow improvement initiatives in support of operations (strategy to execution).

Initiate, lead and work on new projects

Work independently or as a member of small team to conduct rigorous, fact-based research and analysis

Able to independently structure and execute analytical approaches with minimal guidance/supervision

Build financial and operational models to simulate various scenarios and guide management decisions

Deliver work that meets high standards of quality, accuracy, and relevance

Stakeholder Engagement

Lead internal client meetings and communicate progress and outcomes to stakeholders

Participate in cross-functional teams and build relationships with key internal clients and business partners

Qualifications

Education:

College or university degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering or related field. MBA/Master’s degree a plus but not required.

Experience:

3-6 years previous work experience in insurance, financial services or consulting

Project Management exp. a must

Knowledge and skills:

Strong business and financial acumen. Ability to understand the drivers behind a variety of business models. Comfortable using financial data and reading financial statements

Proficient in managing very large data sets and performing analysis to distill and draw out insights from large, complex data sources.

Ability to communicate business requirements and data needs to technical staff

Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure. Experience managing demanding deadlines, changing requirements, and working with limited resources or information

Highly proficient in using business software applications including MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. MS Visio experience is also a plus

Excellent written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Submission Summary)

1. College or university degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering or related field. MBA/Master’s degree a plus but not required.

2. 3-6 years previous work experience in insurance, financial services or consulting

3. Project Management exp. a must

4. The candidates must have consulting experience, handling multiple large projects/ multiple clients.

5. Ideal candidates come from a large consulting firm.

6. Candidates must have some experience/knowledge delivering projects within the insurance industry and preferably P&C insurance.

7. Must have some UX experience, understand user behavior, etc.
