Quality Assurance Engineer

Major purpose: We currently have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Engineer. In this position you will assist in the manufacturing quality process transition for production being transferred from our San Carlos CA site to the Torrance CA facility. These will include transfer of product evaluation procedures, assembly and test instructions, validate manufacturing and supplier quality processes, assure correlation of product test results, identify issues, and determine mitigation solutions.

Major functions: Responsibilities will include:

Supporting our production areas to ensure effective and efficient assessment of parts, processes and deliverable product conformance

Reviewing production area performance and initiate remedial actions when underperforming quality results are identified

Serving as a point of contact for Operations transition activity, status reporting to management

Providing inspection assistance for line inspection staff members, reviewing and overseeing test processes and performing process audits

Supporting our Receiving Inspection function to ensure effective and efficient assessment of supplied item conformance.

Technical/Functional skills:

Education/Experience/Licenses etc.: You will need at least 5 years of relevant Quality Engineering experience in a product manufacturing environment. Other qualifications that will enable you to be successful in this position include:

Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Engineering principles

General knowledge of government and commercial contract requirements

Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System requirements

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience in establishing effective working relationships with Engineering, Operations and Program management

A bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field
