BASIC PURPOSE:

• Removes gloves from porcelain forms, turns right side out, washes and dries gloves.

• Removes excess rubber cement butt scrap from forms.

• Takes tote box of completed rack of gloves to Inspection.

DIMENSIONS:

• Stripping/Turning Measured Standards: Is able to strip/turn all short form racks at the rate of one rack every 18 minutes.

• Strips and turns all dry box racks, which includes the heavy butt scrap accumulation.

• Washes/dries all gloves within this 18-minute Autoclave cycle time.

• Takes individual racks of gloves in totes to the Inspection Department.

• Maintains talc tank with proper amounts of water and compound.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL:

• Basic reading/writing and math skills for following procedures, reporting production and assisting the Autoclave Operator with rack cure times

• High School diploma or GED and 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Basic computer skills

• Maintains good safety and attendance record in accordance to Plant policies.

• Performs all job duties in conjunction with Plant established quality system.

DESIRED:

• Basic computer skills in order to assist as needed in operating the Autoclave monitor.

• Rubber Glove manufacturing experience.

• Lean Manufacturing experience.

• ISO9000 experience.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Strips and turns short form gloves per the 18-minute Autoclave cure cycle.

• Pays close attention to preventing stripper marks when stripping gloves.

• Allows gloves/forms to cool for best quality.

• Washes, dries and takes gloves to Inspection by rack number to maintain rack # integrity.

• Removes excess butt scrap from forms to ensure quality standards are met.

• Assists in removing sub-standard forms or carriers from system.

• Assists as needed per direction of Autoclave Operator in charge or discharge of autoclave and ovens.

• Maintains talc tank with proper amounts of water and talc.

• Practices good housekeeping duties in work area.

• Reports all faulty or unsafe conditions to supervision.

• Performs other job-related duties as directed by shift supervision.

• Commits to and participates in plant 5 S and continual improvement activities.

SPECIAL CHALLENGES:

• Strips gloves from forms carefully to prevent stripper finger marks that are classify as off-quality.

• Also, strips carefully to prevent form breakage that is costly and potentially a danger of injuring someone.

• Time must be taken to ensure proper butt scrap removal.

• Reaching over head height and pulling gloves off forms with rapid manual downward force from continuous overhead conveyor system.

• Turning gloves inside out which requires further downward force

• Transferring 50 Lb. bags of Talc from storage location and placing in glove washing station.

• Ongoing bending to remove gloves from forms.

• Movement of totes of gloves from washing station to dryers and from dryers to inspection staging area ongoing throughout shift.

• Totes with gloves weighs approximately 10-15 lbs.
