• The primary purpose of this position is to convert rubber cement to first quality gloves by dipping the rack of forms to a standardized procedure.


• The Dipper will dip racks of forms in their unit to the standard of 45 - 65 dips/shift according to the form size on the racks.

• The expected first quality goal is 75-100% for each rack after inspection.

• This dipper will dip in various cements such as Hypalon (CSM), Lead, Neoprene, Butyl, EPDM, Natural Rubber, etc.



• Basic English reading/writing and math skills for following dipping procedures and reporting production.

• High School diploma or GED and 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Basic computer skills

• Maintains good safety and attendance record in accordance to Plant policies.

• Performs all job duties in conjunction with Plant established quality system.


• At least 1 year experience working as a Dipper within a Glove Manufacturer.

• Rubber Glove manufacturing experience.

• Basic computer skills.

• Lean Manufacturing experience.

• ISO9000 experience.


• Check dip card for correct undercoating, dip sequence and that the card matches the rack of forms. Check rack for proper spacing, balancing and cleanliness before dipping.

• Check cement tanks for proper cement levels and for air bubbles prior to dipping.

• Fill tanks as needed.

• Recheck for air bubbles and wait until all have cleared before continuing dipping.

• Enter dipping information on dip card as dips are made.

• Tend racks of dipped forms to consistently obtain uniform rubber flow and 1st quality gloves.

• Clean agitator shaft as needed and collect excess rubber when visible around tank.

• Report immediately all abnormal conditions, procedure deviations or equipment malfunction to supervision.

• Maintain a clean environment in dip unit to include covering tanks when not in use, cleaning screens, hoods, airlines and proper working flashlights.

• Operate at all times in accordance with Plant safety policies and Quality system.

• Know and be able to perform all procedures for handling plant hazardous waste and emergency procedures in the event of a spill.

• Perform all other tasks as directed by the shift leader.

• Commits to and participates in plant 5 S and continual improvement activities.


• Personal protective equipment: Hard toed footwear, bump cap, safety glasses, respirator and gloves.

• This position is a critical part of the Quality System in ensuring all dipping procedures are followed for optimum 1st quality production for a customer’s specifications.

• The proper quality of forms, conditions of the rack and cement must be monitored closely.

• A clean dipping environment must be maintained at all times.

• Dipping with various cements presents special challenges for an operator to possess very good dipping and tending experience.
