QC Inspector

1st shift (M-F 7am - 3:30 pm)

Our product ranges from custom pumps, and blowers, to custom sheet metal, air knives and motors used as components in much larger products.

Interprets engineering and schematic diagrams Confers with quality Manager to identify quality requirements Performs in-process testing and communications deviation from requirements or unacceptable trends to the Forge Shop Superintendent and Quality Manager Records test data and applies statistical process control ( SPC) procedures to specified characteristics Performs magnetic particle inspection Assist forge operations supervisor in providing dimensional feedback after corrective actions have been implemented Responsible for maintaining traceability of product through the inspection process Writes NCMR reports on nonconforming product to the hold area

Experience and Knowledge Requirements:

An understanding of machining fundamentals and terminology

Experience with machining inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, etc.)

Experience with CMM inspection tools a plus

Basic understanding of Windows Office

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Proficient at reading and interpreting CAD drawings

Sound organizational and planning skills with solid attention to detail

Ability to work independently, self-directed and solutions oriented

Willingness to acquire knowledge on new technologies to solve quality problems

Prior Quality Assurance experience a plus

Key Activities:

Audit and monitor quality requirements in accordance with the company Quality Assurance policies and customer specifications

Inspection of machined parts, produced both internally and externally

Initiate Non-Conformance reports as required

Document and report inspection finding and results; monitors corrective actions to inspection findings

Work with other departments to resolve inspection questions. Communicate with project engineers to ensure drawings are in compliance with the final product requirements and to help develop corrective and preventative actions

Document information on the computer in various databases and other internal programs; logs the assembly non-conformities and generates a report (QA Log)

Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by QA Manager.

Education, Certification, & License Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent is required

Good computer skills required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 to $23.00 /year
