Job description:

The Systems Security Administrator is a high-level technical expert in the security domain and will work with Information Technology (IT) management, Technical, Helpdesk, Operational and Applications support staff to set and monitor security standards, best practices, and systems necessary to ensure the protection and confidentiality of informational assets. The Systems Security Administrator must demonstrate technical knowledge of technologies, processes, and practices designed to protect servers, computers, programs, and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access.

Proactive in developing and managing security policies and practices for systems across the enterprise by performing the following duties: Incident analysis, vulnerability management and system patching. This position will assist in the development of policies and implementation of appropriate security processes and procedures for all critical data systems, including but not limited to the production environment, disaster recovery environment, and eDiscovery procedures. Must primarily perform work requiring advanced learning or work that is original and creative. Also, must consistently exercise independent choice and ethical judgment. The incumbent must also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Perform patching, vulnerability and risk assessments on AIX, Linux, Mobile Devices, Windows Servers and Computers, VMWare.

Configure and support security tools such as anti-virus, patch management, IDS/IPS, SIEMs, etc.

Implement server security policies, application security, access control and corporate data safeguards

Develops and implements security standards and policies to meet company operational goals as well as regulatory requirements

Maintains related security support documentation, including industry best practice standards, configuration documentation, schematics, implementation plans and instructional material.

Responds appropriately to security incidents, breaches and potential threats to eliminate or reduce these risks and reports to management.

Provide technical advice on access control, security models, disaster recovery, business continuity planning

Participates in new system implementations and upgrades as required, to provide security advice, incorporate security standards, and disaster recovery planning.

Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.

Functions as premier level support for technical issues

Train company employees in security awareness and procedures

Experience/Knowledge with Symantec suit, SCCM, Active Directory, Azure, Group policies, Microsoft OS, AIX, DB (Oracle, SQL), Linux, Citrix, VMWare, Mobile Device Management, Office 365, SIEMs, Data Loss Prevention, Data Encryption, Data retention, backups and disaster recovery.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Two-year degree and two years' experience or a combination of four years' experience and certifications with data systems and security technologies in or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Security Certifications a plus

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Working knowledge of basic system administration standards including backup & recovery, security administration, performance analysis & tuning, capacity planning, hardware and O/S maintenance.

Knowledge of technical trends and developments in technology relating to security and risk management

Ability to conduct risk management assessments, provide assistance in identification, prioritization and remediation of information systems vulnerabilities

Ability to manage multiple complex problems under pressure while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.

Good computer skills.

Good organizational skills.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to set priorities and work on multiple tasks.

Bottom Line Requirements:
