Our client is currently seeking a Senior Manager in our Commercial Ground Vehicle Business. This position is located in Wilson, NC (45 minutes east of Raleigh, NC) and reports directly to the General Manager of the global business.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a diverse multinational

team to develop and implement the growth strategy for fire protection on commercial bus applications

This individual has responsibility to drive significant profitable year on year sales growth for the commercial ground vehicle market globally through direct sales initiatives, tailored engineering solutions to meet customer needs, and other business models / channels to market.

Main responsibilities for this business development role are:

• Identifying, analyzing and developing strategic approaches and product plans to increase business with current and new customers.

• Delivering on sales and profit growth objectives by capturing new business

• Collaborating with a wide variety of functional areas inside and outside the organization to develop and offer product solutions that are responsive to customer and market needs.

• Represent the Commercial Ground Vehicle as prime internal and external contact on matters in areas of sales, strategies, and proposals.

• Ensuring cost, schedule, and content and risk data is prepared, reviewed and approved for new business opportunities and proposals.

• Assisting in development of internal long term strategic plans and short term sales plans for Commercial Ground Vehicle

• Driving global sales for this market segment in line with growth targets and financial plans.

• Develop and execute win strategies for new programs.

• Work with Product Line Managers to develop product / technology strategies that align with customer and market needs.

• Manage customer communications regarding new business opportunities, product/technology roadmaps, and strategic growth activities to achieve world class customer satisfaction.

• Ensure new pursuit activity is aligned with business objectives.

• Exceed customer expectations for proposal content and on time delivery.

• Advocate for customers internally and drive customer first culture.

• Develop and execute strategies for strategic partnerships, acquisitions, distributors, and other business models that supports FPS growth objectives.

• Perform competitor benchmarking

• Assess market landscape to include customers, competitors, regulation, standards


BA/BS degree with at least eight years’ of work experience. Candidates holding a master’s degree must have at least 5 years of work experience.


-Minimum of 6 years of blended technical and business experience in business development or sales of commercial bus/transport or related markets or aviation

-Extensive systems/applications/business experience, preferably in commercial vehicle market

-Ability to effectively partner internally, externally and develop key relationships

-Demonstrated success in expanding existing business lines preferred

-Extension knowledge of business development, creating and developing sales plans.

-Team oriented, self-motivated, proactive, positive outlook, goal oriented, problem solver, respectful

-Significant experience of direct engagement with sales people and customers

-Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal skills

-Strong team working mindset, ability to influence individuals and teams in a matrixed environment and across cultures and time zones
