Job Title : Direct Sales

Location : Columbia, MD – 21046

Pay rate: $17.79 per hour + UNCAPPED Commission

Base Salary: $37 K + Benefits

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

Generate sales by working an assigned territory selling natural gas, electricity and other added value services such as home warranty and connected home products. Use the Direct Energy’s sales flow process to ensure high customer satisfaction; increase customer’s awareness of energy choice. Represent the company professionally and ensure that potential customers have an outstanding experience. Maintain consistent performance against sales targets and customer retention targets on a weekly and monthly basis


• Reside in locations within the Columbia, Maryland area

• Preferred College Degree

• Experience in retail or similar industry with proven abilities to preform-up to a management level

• Understanding of utility ISO/Regulatory requirements and retail process is a Plus

• Knowledge and Understanding of the retailer billed energy business and the impacts of the market rules and changes is a PLUS

• Self-motivated and team oriented is a required attribute.

• Excellent communication skills with presentation skills is required

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment is required

• Ability to “think outside the box,” and resolve various issues is required.

• Ability to manage multiple activities and meet deadlines is required.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the aptitude for conflict resolution with previous negotiating experience.

All employees must be in their current role for a minimum of 6 months. Potential for growth is high, based on performance. Based on performance, from this current role, you can be promoted to a Sales Manager, when a position is open. Opportunities also exist for leadership development within Sales Rep role as a Sales Team Lead. In addition, there are numerous opportunities outside of Sales.
