SHIPPING & RECEIVING – DIRECT HIRE position / Los Angeles, CA 90016

Fast paced food production environment – HACCP, FDA & USDA regulated company is looking for a self-motivated, results-orientated candidate who will be responsible for warehouse operations and activities: receive, process, issue and ship; assure stock and warehouse facility is maintained in a safe, clean and orderly manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Min 2 years S&R experience. Excellent communication skills, detail oriented/organized. Good computer skills to include spreadsheets. Knowledge of industrial safety (OSHA), GMP and Health regulations. Be able to follow directions and procedures accurately. Work well in a team, MUST HAVE a positive attitude. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Familiar with customer receiving compliance requirement, FedEx Ship Manager,UPS World Ship,WMS etc. Must be able to successfully pass a background check, drug testing, pre-employment physical and prove eligibility to work in the US if a position is offered and accepted.

DUTIES:

Receives and unloads freight both manually or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks; checks for damaged goods; conducts incoming truck inspection; verifies quantity and quality of order; verifies items received with purchase order and lot numbers; wraps, packages, and ships supplies; delivers and retrieves supplies to and from work or storage areas; tags and issues supplies; stocks shelves and rotates inventory; may receive, store, and ship flammable, explosive or caustic and hazardous material; may maintain equipment and vehicles. Participates in physical inventories of warehouse and/or supply; maintains inventory records by adding or deleting supplies as they are shipped or received; operates a computer to access, enter, and correct information; answers phones/emails and provides information using customer service skills.

Ensure customer / vendor compliance for shipping & packaging to include carton, pallet labelling and routing requests. Schedule outbound transportation, including routing and pick up times, create Bills of Lading (BOL) and customer specific labels. Research customer/vendor compliance violations & identify improvements where necessary. Assist with regular cycle counting and year-end physical inventory. Maintain the warehouse in a clean, orderly, safe and secure condition; ensures that Warehouse Department complies with GMP’s, EHS, and OSHA regulations. Maintains regular attendance

MISC:

Salary DOE and past verifiable work history. 1st shift position. 5am to 130pm OT as needed. (hours may eventually be 6am to 230pm).
