Major purpose: Processes, assembles, modifies, reworks, tests and repairs mechanical assemblies. Works from samples, diagrams, and oral and written instructions. Processes, assembles and mounts, positions, aligns, adjusts and connects components. Uses adhesive compounds to assure components will not shift. Performs rework of the same nature and level of difficulty as described.


• Set-up and check alignment of axes, perform bearing wobble and orthogonality tests. Self inspect completed work.

• Fit and size parts using lathes, mills, drill presses and other machine shop equipment

• Perform development work for engineering

• Design and fabricate tooling as necessary for in process testing

• Attend design reviews, work with engineering to solve problems before release of project

• Recommend ECN’s to improve design and improve process

• Other duties as assigned.

Technical/Functional skills:

Education/Experience/Licenses etc.: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Minimum Education Required: High school diploma or related precision mechanical assembly training.

• Minimum Experience Required: 4 or more years shop and assembly experience.

• Ability to work with limited supervision and interface with multiple functions.

• Ability to work from blueprints

• Skills Required:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Must be able to read and understand production schematic and drawings

Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Must be able to work with minimal supervision

• Environment/Equipment Used:

The use of safety equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas

Some travel required

• Essential Physical Tasks:

Must be able to lift 50 lb.

Fine motor dexterity

Hand-eye coordination

Concentrated mental/visual demand

Must be able to bend and move with no limitations
