Job Title: Avionics Test Engineer

Location: Rockford, IL

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Note: Required to attend in person Interview:

Primary Responsibilities

1. Hardware Design & Testing based on DO-160 Aerospace Standards

2. Execute various environmental tests; thermal shock, drop, aging, accelerated life, altitude, vibration, shock, temperature cycling, humidity, etc

3. Provide recommendations for environmental design based on concept designs

4. Interface as technical liaison for customer and Client’s team

5. Perform review of deliverables to customer

6. Lead testing schedules, provide daily update on progress

7. Communicate anomalies withe cross-functional project team members

8. Use variety of test equipment to perform testing function; multi-meter, data acquisition system, oscilloscope, multi-meter, spectrum analyzer, digital analysis tools

9. Analyze test data to determine pass/fail status

10. Collaborate with design engineers to address deficiencies and offer insight for improvement

11. Write test reports to clearly define and describe test methodology and results

Required Skills & Abilities

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering related field; Diploma with equivalent work experience required

2. 10+ years of hardware design and/or environmental testing per DO-160 standards

3. Strong foundational knowledge of Aerospace principals and requirements

4. Familiarity with Environmental Requirements Definition from customer-supplied Supplier Component Definition (SCD) to properly review, define, and drive requirements and testing procedures

5. Knowledge of Aircraft System Interface

6. Software Experience: DOORs / Visio / Word / PowerPoint / Excel / MS Project

7. Strong communication skills - written and verbal, to interface with cross-functional project team

8. Organize time and work areas well to maintain progress and meet key deadlines

9. Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
