Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Ponce, Puerto Rico

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Note: Required Local Resident Applicant - Required to attend In Person Interview.


1. Implement, plan, and design engineering projects for the organization

2. Oversee product transfers and product improvements projects for compliance, safety, adherence to standards, supplier contract requirements, and ensure timely completion

3. Define key project activities, anticipated sequence, and desired outcomes without affecting service levels

4. Responsible for routine deliverables - regular progress reporting, updating schedules, meeting minutes, and project correspondence records

5. Use project tools to estimate level of effort for individual work tasks to forecast staffing and budget

6. Maintain budgetary adherence for project staffing costs

7. Assure all internal project activities are conducted in adherence to protocols and standards

8. Ensure each member of the project team is charged with implementing quality assurance checks and reviews

9. Generate Change Controls and supporting documentation

10. Organize and conduct status review sessions to manage project portfolio to provide executive summary updates to key stakeholders

11. Ensure compliance with machine specifications and quality with outside vendors and suppliers

12. Coordinate and provide support to plant personnel for commissioning and validation of new / modified production lines

13. Prepare and lead follow-up for approval of Capital Expenditure Requests as required for tool / equipment replacement or cost reduction projets

14. Interface with OpEx group, Focus Factory Leadership Team, and production groups to ensure project goals align with organizational goals

15. Estimate, report, and monitor project savings

16. Support Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing initiatives across site

Required Skills and Abilities:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Production, or related field

2. English & Spanish Bilingual

3. 5+ years of plant manufacturing experience

4. 5+ years of experience in Medical Devices domain

5. Experience with programming logic controllers - PLCs, Servos, HMIs, etc.

6. Machine mechanical design experience using CREO / PRO-E

7. Proficient with use of Project Management Software

8. Six Sigma Black Belt strongly preferred

9. Excellent communication skills

10. Ability to work well with others throughout all levels of the organization

11. Expertise in Microsoft Office - Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.
