Job Title: Lead Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Note: Required In Person Interview

1. Injection molding / Progressive die stamping / Die casting / Powdered metal / Fine blanking processes.

2. Thorough understanding of Gages and Fixtures.

3. General assembly processes including DFM/DFA and Lean Manufacturing principles.

4. General understanding of error proofing (Poka/Yoke) in the assembly process.

5. Ability to provide input and guidance to the manufacturing team on the assembly process.

Primary Skills:

Key Skills : automotive Latches, Hinges, Spring Calculations, recliners, seat actuators, HVAC Damper door actuators

1. Free body diagram development.

2. Force and Torque calculations of complex mechanical systems, including efficiencies and losses.

3. Gear ratio calculations.

4. Spring calculations for all types of springs.

5. Screw calculations including run-down and strip-out torque analysis.

6. Electric motor performance curve analysis and calculations.

7. Ability to direct and interpret FEA analysis.

8. Ability to direct and interpret ADAMS kinematic analysis.

9. Ability to direct and interpret MOLDFLOW analysis.

Secondary Skills:

1. 10-15+ years of overall mechanical engineering experience required.

2. 5-10+ years of mechanisms experience is required:

a. Latches / Hinges / Handles / Seat mechanisms (seat track, retractors etc).

b. Manual Sunroof assemblies.

c. Other mechanisms.

3. 5+ years of electro-mechanical experience is highly preferred:

a. Powered closure systems (Power strut / Power Liftgate / Power sliding door etc).

b. Powered seat actuators or recliners.

c. Powered HVAC damper door actuators.

d. Window regulators.

e. Powered Sunroof assemblies.

f. Other electro-mechanical power actuators.
