Our Livonia, MI client is seeking a Process Engineer for a full-time contract opening.


The basic function of this position is to provide engineering skills in support of production, maintenance, and facilities through design, procurement, and installation, of integrated systems of people, equipment, material, tooling, and information.


Industrialization Manager


• The Process Engineer has the responsibility and authority to:

• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process and quality system;

• Identify and record any product, process, and quality system problems;

• Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels;

• Verify the implementation of solutions;

• Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected as defined by applicable procedures and/or by delegation of the area manufacturing manager.

• Ensures compliance to Standards of Business Conduct through familiarity with related policies and procedures. Encourages peers in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.

• Recommends and implements changes in design, tooling, and equipment to improve the housing processes and improve cost effectiveness.

• Responsible for plant layouts and the coordination of equipment and process rearrangements.

• Analyzes tool fixture and equipment problems and assists in the timely resolution of the problem.

• Consults with Product Design Engineers to maximize process capability and product integrity.

• Designs, procures, and tests jigs, fixtures, and tooling required for both production and test equipment.

• Provides design and engineering support for non-tooling related items such as safety and productivity related projects.

• Provides design and engineering support for the PCCR, and ECN systems.

• Serves as Project Coordinator in the identification and clarification of production, maintenance, facilities, material handling, or safety/ergonomic challenges, writes appropriation requests as necessary, and designs, specifies, purchases, and installs machinery and equipment to achieve desired results.

• Collaborate and coordinate with Corporate Industrialization Group on new equipment installations and product introductions ensuring project timing, quality and cost targets are met.

• Provides on-call assistance in troubleshooting equipment and tooling problems.


**B.S. Degree in Engineering

**1 - 5 years’ experience in a metal working industry preferred or completed an apprenticeship program w **Experience in the development of labor standards, justification and purchase of capital equipment, and tool design.

**Demonstrated knowledge in tool and machine design, (C.A.D., Excel, Word and Power Point are required).
