Logistics Coordinator is accountable for increasing the effectiveness of the domestic transportation network by lowering costs, increasing efficiency, and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Logistics Coordinators ultimate responsibility is that all freight originating in his or her region is covered on approved capacity.

Develop and maintain positive customer service in designated region by understanding customer needs and contract terms. Develop and implement plans to meet those needs and demonstrating excellent customer service principles.

Work effectively in a team environment within the department and the various brands.

Take the initiative to escalate potential transportation issues to the leadership team.

Ensure that all policies, procedures and controls are followed and that all reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.

Coordinate logistics with suppliers, company trucks and carriers.

Determine cost effective freight solutions and service levels.

Monitor transportation issues for delivery requirements in support of operational requirements.

Timely coordination/scheduling of pick-up and deliveries to/from factories, Suppliers, Customers

Routing methods for each type of cargo related to costs and transit time

Knowledge of terminologies used for insurance, transportation and customs

Preparation of shipping documentations i.e. Bill of Ladings and Standard Operating Procedures

Monitor and provide reports on in-transit status: Booking, Consolidation, In-transit, Arrival, Receipts, Customs clearance status

Mitigate delays to ensure on-time delivery to final destination

Reports any issues or concerns immediately with management staff and follows agency protocol

Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Minimum Requirements --

High school diploma with related industry experience. College degree desirable.

Previous experience in dedicated fleet, LTL or TL dispatch is required.

Proficient computer skills to include: Excel, Word, Outlook, and data entry.

Ability to multi-task while interacting with others in a fast paced environment.

Candidate must be organized and able to understand transportation rules and regulations

Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
