180015 IMDS Assistant Manager

Our customer located in Novi, MI is seeking an IMDS Assistant Manager for a direct hire position.

The salary range for this position is dependent upon level of experience.

General Summary

Lead activities regarding IMDS (International Material Data System) collection and submission throughout the product life from development through the end of production.

Essential Job Functions

• Guide suppliers regarding IMDS submissions according to specific OEM requirements.

• Coordinate with internal departments and external suppliers to meet customer requirements.

• Establish schedules at each step of the IMDS process and meet scheduled milestones.

• Evaluate engineering documentation including confirmation of compliance to “Data as Master” rules and customer and company guidelines for engineering changes, bills of material, 2D/3D data and other release documents.

• Coordinate with Z (Engineering Program Management) Department Japan to create and achieve the proper CCC (China Compulsory Certification) for products that are shipping to China. Negotiate with Japan and internal departments to ensure certification when required.

• Supervise a team of engineers, to include overseeing team member selection, development, performance management, and management of day-to-day activities.

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Project Management or related field is required.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.

• Minimum of 3 years of functional leadership or supervisory experience is required.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required, including strong leadership ability.

• Excellent computer skills and attention to detail.

• Able to work in a fast-paced, multicultural work environment.

• Ability to function both independently and in a team environment.

Required Language Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.

• Japanese, German, Spanish, and/or Portuguese language skills are preferred.

Required Computer / Software Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).

• Ability to create mathematical, logical, and reference formulas in Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
