Location Central & Southern MX sales region includes the following MS states. It is understood that sales territories may be realigned and subject to change as required.
* Aguascalientes, Distrito Federal, Estado Mexico, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Michoacán, Morales, Queretaro, Puebla, San Luis Potosi, Tlaxcala, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Zacatecas.
Summary: The Regional Sales Manager - Central/South MX reports directly to the Sr. Vice President of Sales & Marketing and is responsible for the profitable growth of our international Mexican business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Prepare, evaluate, and submit monthly & quarterly reports of progress towards business plans, objectives, goals, and key metrics.
Determine & implement sales strategy and promote business with both existing accounts and new business development.
Maintain excellent relationships with Mexican carriers and assist them in improving their service and responsiveness to company and company's customer base.
Identify, solicit, secure and properly contract new business - penetrating high potential key market segments in Central & Southern MX.
Develop a thorough understanding of each customer's and shipper's transportation needs by penetrating multiple levels of the customer organization. This includes knowing the daily contacts in dispatch, operations, accounts payable, loading, sales and transportation management up to and including the Vice President level. Additionally, the RSM must know each customer's hours of operations, specific shipment handling requirements, service expectations, volumes, lanes, and payment abilities.
Work with upper level management as required, to create thorough contractually based pricing proposals.
Recruit, develop and maintain strong business relationships with key shippers, Mexican carriers, freight brokers, and freight forwarders.
Work closely with associates in Laredo and Tulsa in understanding needs and opportunities within the company.
Proactively build positive, reciprocal relations with Customer Service, Outside Sales, Inside Sales, Equipment Control, Operations, and Marketing within the organization. Maintain daily communication with region team members including Sales & Equipment Control in Monterrey, NB/SB Customer Service / Dispatch and Safety in Laredo, and Sales, Marketing, and Operations in Tulsa.
Maximize trailer turns and utilization of all equipment in the Mexico trailer pool.
Adopt company skills sales culture. Completely understand the sales cycle while working with customers and prospects. Identify and satisfy customer needs while fully utilizing SSS skills in every customer communication.

Hours: Mondays through Friday, 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM and on-call as required after hours 24/7.
Passport/Visa: Must possess valid passport, credit card, and necessary travel documents to travel to/from United States.
Qualification Requirements: as follows:
Education and/or Experience: Qualified Candidates will have: at least 3 years of transportation experience, at least 2 years in selling truckload services, experience in coordinating international truck transportation and cross-border operations. Must have verifiable success in acquiring and building new customers and business opportunities.
Preferred Candidates will have: a college degree, sales experience with an established carrier and shipper credibility along with a combined 5 years of experience in truck transportation. Prefer at least 2 years of experience in flatbed sales and operations.
Special Training: Must have strong computer skills and be computer competent in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Preferably familiar with trucking and sales management software such as Innovative AS400 System and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software such as Salesforce.
Special Skills: Must be able to communicate (written & verbal) in both native Spanish and English, handle stressful situations and pay close attention to detail. Must also be able to work and perform as a team player. Must be very analytical, able to interpret reports, and formulate action plans to maximize opportunities and minimize deficiencies.
Travel: Must be willing to travel overnight 50% - 60% throughout central and Southern MX and occasionally to Laredo, TX and Tulsa, OK. Excellent sales and presentation skills (written and verbal).
