M-Team Solutions is currently recruiting for a Sr. Electrical Engineer for a direct hire opportunity supporting large-scale material handling and conveyor automation projects in the Columbus, OH area. We are looking for experienced controls engineers with strong PLC, HMI, and industrial automation backgrounds.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and commission electrical control systems for material handling equipment and conveyor systems
Create electrical drawings and detailing packages including:
Wiring diagrams
Control panel layouts
Electrical device layouts
Program and troubleshoot PLC systems for automated conveyor applications
Design and develop HMI screens and operator interfaces
Define electrical components and generate Bills of Material (BOMs)
Write Sequence of Operations and system functionality documentation
Perform calculations related to:
Power distribution
Cycle times
Industrial communications networks (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, etc.)
Configure and validate VFD parameters for conveyor systems including load sharing applications
Lead commissioning activities in both shop and field environments
Support installation, startup, troubleshooting, and debugging of field wiring issues
Coordinate with electricians, millwrights, and skilled trades during installation
Conduct plant and construction site inspections
Lead project meetings and communicate directly with customers and vendors
Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff
Qualifications
5–10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering and industrial controls design
Strong experience with PLC programming platforms such as:
Allen Bradley ControlLogix
Siemens
Mitsubishi
Omron
GE
Experience designing HMI systems including:
PanelView
GE
PROFACE
Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D required
Understanding of industrial electrical standards and codes including:
NEC
NFPA 79
UL 508A
OSHA
ANSI
Strong troubleshooting skills with industrial electrical systems
Experience with material handling equipment and automotive manufacturing environments preferred
Strong communication and project leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
Comfortable working in fast-paced industrial and manufacturing environments
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
Additional Requirements
Ability to travel to project sites including Canada and Mexico
Must be available for occasional weekends, overtime, nights, and holidays as required by project schedules
Must be physically capable of climbing ladders/scaffolding and standing or walking for extended periods
