Product Owner Application Security

We are currently seeking an experienced Product Owner with a strong background in Application Security (AppSec) to support a large-scale enterprise technology and security environment. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with cross-functional engineering and security teams focused on enhancing secure development practices and driving enterprise-wide application security initiatives.

This position operates within a highly collaborative Agile environment and is ideal for someone who can bridge strategic product direction with technical execution across complex security-focused initiatives.

Columbus, Ohio (Hybrid Schedule)

Compensation:

$58–60/hour

Duration:

12-Month Contract

Key Responsibilities:

Translate high-level product strategy and security objectives into actionable product features and delivery plans

Partner closely with engineering, security, and technical stakeholders to drive execution across multiple Agile delivery teams

Own and manage product backlogs, ensuring prioritization aligns with business value, security risk, and strategic goals

Break down initiatives into epics, features, and user stories to support quarterly and annual planning efforts

Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies and support delivery execution from intake through implementation

Collaborate with technical teams to ensure successful deployment of application security initiatives and tooling

Support initiatives related to secure software development and vulnerability remediation across enterprise applications

Help drive adoption and enhancement of enterprise application security capabilities and standards

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Product Owner, Digital Product Management, or related experience

Strong experience working within Agile/Scrum product delivery environments

Hands-on experience supporting Application Security (AppSec) initiatives

Experience managing product backlogs, prioritization, and delivery planning

Strong ability to translate strategic initiatives into detailed execution plans and technical requirements

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and business stakeholders

Preferred Experience:

Background in Application Security engineering or DevSecOps

Experience supporting enterprise security programs within large corporate environments

Familiarity with vulnerability management, secure coding practices, and code scanning technologies

Exposure to tools and concepts such as:

Static Application Security Testing (SAST)

Software Composition Analysis (SCA)

Vulnerability scanning and remediation tools

Secure software development lifecycle practices
