What you'll do as a Software Development Specialist 4: Under general direction from assigned Information Technology Supervisor to provide solution designs, develop project plans with project manager or recommend approach through defining tasks &/or leading meetings relating to programs for computer applications. Assists analysis of the solution design's business case. Edits or creates for recommendation and approval enterprise or IT artifacts, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, best practices and position papers. Develops pass/fail testing criteria. Assesses overall system performance including optimizing code and identifying and resolving peripheral software/hardware conflicts.

Qualifications

Option 1: 60 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: providing solutions design, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to programs for computer applications including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting. Option 2: completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; AND 42 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: providing solutions design, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to programs for computer applications including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting. Option 3: completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; AND 36 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: providing solutions design, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to programs for computer applications including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting. -Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
