Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated General Teacher to join our nationally accredited early childhood program in Columbus, Ohio. This role supports a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate is patient, collaborative, and committed to fostering each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.Key Responsibilities
Plan and implement daily lesson plans and activities that are age-appropriate and aligned with the program curriculum.
Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture that respects diversity and supports each child’s individual needs.
Observe, document, and assess children’s progress; share observations and developmental updates with families and team members.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom in compliance with licensing and organizational policies.
Support routines including arrival, meals, toileting/diapering, rest time, and transitions.
Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and administrators to support children’s learning and well-being.
Communicate regularly and professionally with families, providing resources and guidance as appropriate.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and program improvement activities.Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred.
Experience: Previous experience working with young children in a classroom, childcare, or related setting preferred.
Skills:
Strong classroom management and effective, compassionate communication skills.
Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and adapt instruction to diverse learners.
Team-oriented approach and willingness to learn from colleagues and supervisors.
Certifications: Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Must meet state and local licensing requirements.
Ability to pass background screening and any required health checks.Schedule & Work Environment
This position may be full-time or part-time with a schedule that supports program operations. Must be comfortable working directly with children and supporting hands-on classroom activities.What We Offer
