Construction Project Engineer

Job Description

Fulcrum Construction Company is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Beaverton, Oregon. This is a critical hands-on role responsible for managing the technical and coordination aspects of commercial and industrial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. The ideal candidate brings strong field and technical expertise to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day engineering and technical aspects of assigned construction projects

Review and interpret plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change orders

Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and owners to resolve technical issues

Track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables using Procore, Primavera P6, or MS Project

Conduct site visits and quality control inspections to verify compliance with contract documents

Prepare and maintain project documentation including daily reports, progress photos, and as-builts

Support project managers with cost forecasting, change management, and invoice approvals

Ensure all work meets OSHA, Oregon state, and local regulatory requirements

Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders

Identify and mitigate project risks proactively

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

Minimum 5 years of progressive Project Engineer experience in commercial or industrial construction (required)

Strong working knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, and contract administration

Proficiency with construction management software (Procore preferred)

Valid Oregon driver’s license and clean driving record

Ability to travel to project sites throughout the Portland Metro and Willamette Valley

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification

LEED or other sustainability credentials

Experience with healthcare, education, or tenant improvement projects
