Job Title: Machine Operator Trainee
Job Description
The Machine Operator Trainee will work in a high-volume manufacturing facility that produces stainless steel tubing. In this role, you will learn to operate and assist with machinery that spins and straightens tubing to remove imperfections. The position is labor intensive and requires constant movement, including pushing, pulling, and positioning tubing to ensure proper machine setup. You will also follow detailed work orders and enter production information into a computer system to support the next steps in the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
Assist with the setup and operation of machinery that spins and straightens stainless steel tubing to remove imperfections.
Handle, move, push, pull, and position tubing and pipe to ensure machines are properly aligned and running correctly.
Review and interpret work orders attached to product bundles to understand required tasks and specifications.
Perform manual labor throughout the production process while remaining on your feet for the entire shift.
Monitor rotating equipment in a loud manufacturing environment and follow all safety procedures around moving machinery.
Record and input accurate production data and completion details into the computer system for the next stage of processing.
Use basic measuring tools and equipment as needed to verify product dimensions and quality.
Communicate clearly about the machines you operate and the tasks you perform, including explaining prior work and responsibilities during the interview and on the job.
Collaborate with other production team members to meet daily output and quality goals.
Support overtime and shift needs as required to meet production demands.
MUST HAVE Skills
At least 1+ year of experience operating CNC machine
Ability to understand and follow work orders and basic manufacturing processes.
Experience in machine operation in production work environment.
Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in a mechanical manufacturing setting if direct machine operating experience is limited.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and work on your feet for the entire shift.
Comfort working around loud, rotating equipment and following safety protocols.
Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, or other precision measuring tools.
CNC experience is a plus but not required.
Comfort using a computer to enter production information and follow workflow steps.

Work Environment
This position is based in a very large, non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility that produces stainless steel tubing. The environment can be loud due to rotating and heavy equipment, and it may be hot depending on the area and season. You will work in close proximity to industrial machinery and will be on your feet for the entire shift while performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds. The standard schedule is Monday through Thursday on 10-hour shifts: first shift runs from 4:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with overtime on Fridays as needed. The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
