Structural Engineer (0–5 Years Experience)
MHAI is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to join our team. This position is ideal for early-career professionals who are ready to expand their technical skills, while taking on increasing responsibility and ownership of their work within a collaborative, supportive environment.
Our firm serves a diverse client base, offering exposure to a wide variety of projects—from structural evaluations and investigations to large institutional facilities. Project types include educational buildings, historic restorations, municipal infrastructure, and multi-family residential developments.
Responsibilities:
Perform structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, and timber systems, with guidance from senior engineers and increasing independence over time
Prepare construction documents, drawings, and engineering calculations
Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams
Contribute to solving design challenges and meeting project deadlines
Support project delivery, with opportunities to take on discrete project components or tasks as experience grows
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required)
0–5 years of relevant experience (internship/co-op experience considered)
Progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred
Familiarity with structural design software (RAM products and Revit a plus)
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
