Myticas Consulting is looking for a junior level Software Specialist for a long-term contract to permmanent opportunity within the Ottawa region.

The required candidate must, at a minimum, be expected to perform the following:

- Write code for new features and enhancements.

- Assist in the maintenance of the existing public safety group’s code base.

- Compile/Debug applications/programs.

- Develop test programs.

- Perform software tests.

- Compile information for and write portions of technical reports and program documentation.

- Assist in low level design.

Requirements for this role would include:

- Post secondary education in a computer science related program (Diploma or BSc (preferred)).

- Candidate must have no impediments to obtaining a minimum Enhanced Reliability clearance.

- Knowledge of Web technologies (HTML, XML, XSDs and ASP.NET).

- Knowledge of C#.

- Knowledge of .NET development approach including using .NET components with Microsoft Internet Information Service (IIS).

- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 or 2015 in a Team Foundation Server (TFS) environment (including source control)

- Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2008/2012 and/or Windows7/Windows 8/Windows 10 development environments.

- Understanding of the software development lifecycle.

- Excellent communications skills.</li>

Optional skills would include:

- Experience and knowledge of C++, and MFC

- Experience and knowledge with CSS stylesheets and XML stylesheets

- Experience and knowledge with Xamarin forms.

- Experience and knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture programming.

- Experience with Web technologies (HTML5, JSON and javascript).

- Knowledge of MS Windows-based servers operating in a VM environment.

- Understanding of Internet protocols, firewalls, VPNs and general communications programming expertise.

- Experience and knowledge of development practices in a secure environment.

- Bilingual (French).

- Experience in Public Safety environments.
