Full-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner needed at a great treatment center in Arizona (1 hour from Phoenix)!

TITLE: Nurse Practitioner

DEPARTMENT: Psychiatry

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Nurse Practitioner is responsible to provide psychiatric services for assigned patients. This includes: Psychiatric Evaluation; Medication Management / Psychiatric Medical Assessments; continuous care; psychotherapy support and admission / discharge / transfer orders.


1. Responsible to the Medical Director for maintaining the quality of medical care within the treatment program.

2. Advise the Medical Director on medical problems and on questions of policy and public relations as they relate to medical practice.

3. Assist in establishing standards of psychiatric care and investigate and study new developments in psychiatric practice and techniques.

4. Assist in planning and establishing of such treatment center milieu programs as may be necessary or beneficial to patients receiving care in the treatment program.

5. Be responsible for the maintenance of medical standards of patient care to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations by participating in UR/QA committee meetings.


* Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing, with board certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, with 3-5 years experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and at least three years experience with Eating Disorders.
