Job Description: Our established nursing facility is currently seeking a Physical therapist to provide the following functions: Provide a service that helps to restore the function by improving mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of residents suffering from injuries or diseases. Maintain and promote the overall fitness and health of the residents. Examine residents' medical histories and then test and measure the residents' strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, muscle performance, respiration, and motor function. Develop plans describing a treatment strategy and its anticipated outcome for residents. Treatment often includes exercise, especially for residents who have been immobilized or who lack flexibility, strength, or endurance. The Physical therapist will encourage the residents to use their muscles to increase their flexibility and range of motion. More advanced exercises focus on improving strength, balance, coordination, and endurance. The goal is to improve how an individual functions. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Accredited Degree in Physical Therapy or related degree with certification in Physical Therapy from an accredited college/university with an APTA-accredited program required. 1 year of LTC experience; prior experience preferred but new Physical Therapy Assistant graduates will be considered. Must have health provider CPR certification or obtain certification within 90 days of employment and maintain certification throughout employment.
