Overview

Responsibilities

A successful candidate will have to design, develop, and maintain software applications that are used to automate Back Office, Accounting, Treasury and Compliance operations of the firm. The tasks involved in this process may include:

Web-based GUIs using Java/J2EE on Linux platform

Database design and development using UML and Oracle (SQL, PL/SQL)

Reporting applications using Java and Perl/KSH/Bash/Python

Parsers for vendor data in CSV, XML, FIXML or SWIFT MT (ISO 15022) formats

Shell scripts using Perl/KSH/Bash/Python

Required Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

1. BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics

2. Minimum 3 years of programming experience in Java/J2EE on UNIX/Linux

3. Must be doing 85-90% development all day long.

4. Strong knowledge of object oriented concepts and UML

5. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

6. Independent, self-motivated, and detail oriented

Desirable:

7. Familiarity with RDBMS, preferably Oracle

8. Experience with XML, FIXML, and SWIFT messaging

9. Knowledge of financial instruments

10. Experience with IDE like Eclipse and Continuous Integration

11. Local candidates are preferred

12. Must have P&C license
