Job description:

Global manufacturer looking for a Tooling Engineer.

Key Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provide input and oversee the design of tooling, fixtures and gauges.

Responsible for tooling for new products, changes that need to be made and maintenance of tooling.

Assists New Product Development with getting prototype tooling and parts built and provide input on feasibility and cost of tooling.

Stay abreast of and facilitate corrections to daily production issues related to tooling.

Advises tool room support on repairs/changes to existing tools and review tool designs created.

Establish and ensure proper tooling documentation and drawings are maintained.

Assist in the development and application of preventative maintenance program for tooling.

Determine quick tool change process and justification.

Work to resolve tool related problems resulting in process optimization, improved quality and reliability.

The ideal person for this position has the following minimal requirements:

Good communication, organizational, and analytical skills along with good mechanical aptitude.

Ability to communicate effectively with others, in and outside of the department and/or company.

Ability to manage several projects at 1 time.

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or 2-year technical degree and 5 years or experience.

Experience:

Experience injection molding operations.

Knowledge of plastic injection molds.

Experience working with outside tooling.

Bottom Line Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. 2 year technical degree or higher required.

2. 3+ years of experience as a Tooling Engineer.

3. Experience with plastic injection molding.

4. Experience working with outside tooling.
