Senior Business Analyst Financial Services

Guides project teams in business process analysis and executes the gathering, elicitation and documentation of business requirements for medium size projects and production support.

May also include the documentation of strategic or discretionary level business cases, existing business process flows and testing scenarios. The documentation of these requirements is used by business and technology to understand the business problem.

Works closely with technical staff and their application development team and with Testing Services to ensure that the business requirements are understood. Leads small to medium size teams. Also, may participate and/or lead project teams in integration and user acceptance testing to ensure the agreed upon solution matches the business requirements.

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree is preferred but not required.

•Prior experience as an SME, business or technical resource involving analysis of regulatory requirements and projects –Experience supporting Investment Management areas including regulatory reporting and Electronic Funds Transfer( ETF)

•Cursory knowledge of derivatives (options, swaps, futures), commodity pools and alternative investments is a preferred.

•Experience and understanding of the Fixed Income business and securities is preferred.

•Experience with system development lifecycle methodology.

•Experience with waterfall and Agile project methodologies.

•Experience with all aspects of testing (functional, systems, user acceptance) – test case/scenario creation, test execution, defect management, test status reporting.

•Experience utilizing business metrics.

•Strong and effective oral and written communication skills

•Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties including project team members, stakeholders, SMEs, company management and outside business associates.

•Strong attention to detail and problem solving.

•Organized and driven – working very well without direction

•Ability to understand the business and the overall objectives of the project and translate that into a detailed plan and objectives for gathering the appropriate level of business requirements, defining the current and preliminary future state and preparing a gap analysis.

•Organized and effective in planning and scheduling own activities in accomplishing objectives.

•Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems and ensure the solution is consistent with the organizational objectives.
