Description:

Responsible for negotiating and writing contracts for services with outside vendors working in conjunction with business unit personnel. Develop negotiating strategy including: developing cost of ownership models, develop multiple price models, cost containment models, and pricing caps and indices. Write the deal summary and deal detail for assigned contracts. Write performance criteria and service level expectations that match the business requirements and lead the negotiation process for moderately complex negotiations. Write modifications to existing agreements and work with the Legal department as necessary to protect the interest of AEP.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Write the deal summary.

2. Understand the parameters of the boilerplate terms and offer solutions to requested changes for standard variances from terms.

3. Write performance criteria and service levels that match the business requirements and suggest changes to business requirements to increase value.

4. Write modifications to existing agreements using various models.

5. Lead the negotiation process through strategy development, issue recognition, and escalation of issues for moderately complex negotiations.

6. Define and apply best/worst case scenarios.

7. Apply various price models, cost containment models, pricing caps, total cost-of-ownership model, and indices.

8. Demonstrate moderate experience in a moderate range of subject categories relevant to areas of contract responsibility.

Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field of study.

Preferred: Good understanding of various price models, cost-containment models, pricing caps, total cost-of-ownership model, and indices. Experience with industrial and/or commercial project management and construction. Experience with construction, labor, and services-focused sourcing and contracting.
