The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides direct patient care services and performs medical acts as a Nurse Practitioner under the supervision of the supervisory physician to patients requiring psychiatric evaluation and management in the outpatient clinic. The Nurse Practitioner performs physical and mental health exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, and provides direct patient care services. The PMHNP contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and provides leadership in the organization.

Position requirements


Work requires completion of accredited graduate level Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.


Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina and approval to practice as an NP in the state of North Carolina.


ANCC certification as an Adult or Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner


Strongly prefer candidate with at least one year of experience as a PMHNP.
