Position : Graphic Designer

Location : Franklin Lakes, NJ

Duration : 12+ Month Contract

Start Time :09:00 AM

End Time :05:00 PM

Total Hours/week : 40.00[Mon-Fri]


• Preferred 3 – 5 years experience in graphic design. Demonstrated ability as a creative designer of products and applied graphics.

• Extensive experience with Macintosh computer graphics and programs (Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat, Photo Shop, InDesign, Quark Xpress) Bar Code Software, and Excel. Working knowledge and basic experience using windows based (PC) graphics, programs and systems.

• Knowledge of packaging/labeling materials for medical devices, packaging configurations, equipment, and printing techniques. Basic familiarity of printing processes.

• Knowledge of Regulatory (domestic and international) labeling requirement, procedures, and standards. Prior Documentation Control or related experience in medical device industry or other highly regulated industry is a plus.

• Expected to exercise good judgment and act in a consultative manner to ensure compliance with BD Branding & Identity standards and guidelines and determine appropriate action where applicable. • Prior experience working cross-functionally across departments.

• Prior experience in developing small-scale plans, managing competing priorities, and communicating timelines.

• Has led small scale/scope projects to successfully meet goals..


• Creates artwork using a Macintosh based computer graphics system and Adobe programs to layout and design labeling for medical devices.

• Provides assurance that the quality of all artwork and packaging graphics complies with BD Medical and Corporate Identity standards as well as meeting all regulatory requirements.

• Interfaces with appropriate functions individually or coordinates review meetings to obtain consensus approvals of artwork. Ensures that completed artwork meets the requirements of both internal and external customers.

• Interfaces with Worldwide teams to obtain necessary translations of English text. Develops multilingual artwork with R&D Project Leaders and Worldwide Marketing representatives.

• Interfaces with BD MPS graphics associates worldwide (e.g. Singapore, Brazil, Mexico, Spain) to ensure consistency in labeling information, ie trademarks, symbols, logos, Corporate Identity standards, etc. Supports these operations as necessary to create any new artwork.

• Support manufacturing plants in the creation of labeling for in-house, online printing at each site.

• Work closely with Graphics Coordinator Lead the completion of Graphics related documentation changes from supporting gathering of project requirements through to document release at the R&D center in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Support the approval of changes through to document release.

• Release electronic artwork to manufacturing/finished goods suppliers upon graphics approval.

• Work closely with Senior Graphic Designer to coordinate artwork preparation with external vendors, which may include finished artwork, stats, and/or negatives, for labeling and packaging.

• Help team maintain metrics for Graphics and ECM processes

• Ability to read, write and speak English effectively. Multilingual a plus.

• Ability to enforce quality controls and regulations to maintain clean audit trails and compliance.

• Learning agility to learn new systems and processes.

• Highly capable of multi-tasking and organizing multiple projects across multiple platforms simultaneously.

• Ability to prioritize and plan work assignments so as to work independently as needed.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Highly detail-oriented, organized, and thorough in work. Strong work ethic to feel accountable for team deliverables.
