Position Overview

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing diverse duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, Calibration & Preventative Maintenance processes and to ensure equipment in maintained in a validated state.

Quick Summary

The Maintenance Technician will be accountable for providing service and support to internal customers. The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to installation of plant and production equipment, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting/diagnose equipment problems, providing service for unscheduled repairs/maintenance, and assist in the execution of equipment qualifications.

To be successful the candidate must be self-motivated, possess good communication skills, a positive attitude, be able to keep timely, consistent and accurate records of work. In our business, it is critical the candidate can demonstrate a solid understanding of the importance of documentation.

Basic Background Requirements

This position will require:

•Experience in Medical Device manufacturing preferred

•Two year technical degree or 2-3 years of experience

•Experience in troubleshooting technical issues (Electrical & Mechanical)

•Experience maintaining equipment

•Experience with controls a plus but not required

•Experience with equipment qualifications preferred but not required

•Working independently

•Ability to work in a team environment

•The ability to work with production associates and other technicians

•Maintain general knowledge of the certification and regulatory requirements contained in ISO-13485, and FDA CFR/GMP Medical Device Regulation

Key Performance Objectives

Short Term: (0 to 3 months)

•Learn Kimball Electronics_IN (KEIND) Quality system requirements

•Build relationships with Engineering and Operations team members

•Learn Calibration & Maintenance Program

•Familiarize yourself with processes and equipment

•Support & maintain equipment

•Learn and adopt Kimball Electronics philosophies and culture

Midterm: (3 to 6 months)

•Accountable for maintenance activity

•Learn ERP system basic job functions (Generate reports & work orders)

•Have solid understanding of program and system

Long term: (6 to 12 months)

•Learn coordinator responsibilities to serve as a back-up

•Ability to train other technicians on maintaining equipment

•Complete task with little oversight
