Art Projects Ibiza is seeking a highly organized, detail oriented and efficient Assistant. Art Projects Ibiza, an exhibition platform in Ibiza, Spain, was established in June of 2015 with the mission to foster creative partnerships with artists and galleries worldwide by inviting international collaborators to realize large-scale exhibitions.
The Assistant will report to the Manager and Director and will provide support for the execution of projects and day to day administration. The ideal candidate will possess a balance of professionalism, discretion, positive attitude, resourcefulness and flexibility. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist manager and director with arts administration
Assist with visiting artists, gallery staff, curators, collectors or guests
Conduct research as necessary on artworks, artists, biennials, curators, museums, clients and art fairs.
Maintain social media platforms for Art Projects Ibiza: Instagram, Facebook and websites
Organize and maintain the image archive
Maintain and update the rolodex
Maintain and update the calendar and create itineraries and timelines
Maintain list of upcoming gallery exhibitions in Europe
Draft visitor reports
Perform light bookkeeping
Create exhibition press books and checklists
Assist in the organization of events and private parties
Book flights, hotels and restaurant reservations
Run errands such as going to grocery store, hardware store, art supply store, office supply store, go to post office for parcel pick up and drop off
On occasion pick up lunch for visiting artists
On occasion pick up artists from the airport
Assist in opening and closing the gallery space and greet visitors.
Communicate progress of projects with broader team.
Advanced fluency, written and oral, in English and Spanish.
The ability to prioritize tasks from written and verbal communications
Own a reliable car and have a valid driver’s license
Proficiency in Mac, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative and knowledge of Google Drive (Gmail, Google docs, Calendar)
