Health Safety Environmental Specialist (Safety Manager)

• The HSE Specialist will act as the Safety Manager responsible to implement and maintain effective health, safety, and environmental programs.

Qualifications:

• 30 Hour OSHA Construction Safety Class or equivalent within the last 5 years

• A minimum of 5 years of construction industry safety experience or three (3) years if he/she possesses a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or safety and health degree.

• The Safety Manager, as a minimum, must have completed the 30 hour OSHA Construction course or as an equivalent 30 hours of formal construction safety and health training covering the subjects of the OSHA 30-hour course

• An average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 5 years with training for competent person status for at least the following areas of competency:

• Three (3) years’ experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook in a business environment.

• Maintain the OSHA Form 300 for prime and sub-contractors.

• Maintain, update, implement, and enforce accepted Safety Plans and Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA’s), including documentation by subcontractors.

• Comply with client's Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) training and safety documentation requirements.

• Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system that monitors deficiencies until resolution.

• Ensure and document subcontractor compliance with safety, health, and environmental requirements.

• May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
