Job Description:

This position serves as a Cook in the kitchen of the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ISBVI). The Cook performs a variety of work assignments with moderate direction from the Supervisor and Dietician including but not limited to preparing food, cooking food, cleaning kitchen and serving line area.

This position follows a work schedule in conjunction with the ISBVI academic school year and is paid $816 biweekly while ISBVI is in session.

Preferred Experience:

Two (2) years’ experience in food preparation, sanitation, inventory control, or purchasing within the large quantity food service industry or accredited college training in a related field.

• The successful candidate should possess the ability to weigh food (portion control) as well as operate and clean kitchen equipment such as steamers, steam tables, slicers, choppers, stoves, ovens, etc.
