The Clinical Lab Manager is responsible for technical and staff supervision, administrative management of all sections and assuring proficiency of staff, accurate instrument operation, quality control, quality assurance and proficiency testing. Performs testing in all departments of the Laboratory. Many of these tests are complex, involving numerous skills and techniques, and require the use of professional judgment. Professional application of the principles, theories, and techniques in scientific testing subjects are used to produce consistently reliable test results, which aid the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.


Successful candidate must:

Possess baccalaureate degree in the clinical laboratory scientist field.

Possess current California state licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Be CPR Certified

Prior experience in specialized and complex analysis, computer experience, quality control, calibration, QC evaluation, inventory control, preventative maintenance, quality improvement, work scheduling, PI planning and budgeting.

5 years of Supervisor or Management experience.

10 years of experience as a CLS

Be professional, well-spoken and outgoing.

Possess strong communication skills, written and verbal.

Comfortable working with all levels of personnel.

Able to work independently and as part of a team, and to hold self-accountable and stay on task with minimal supervision.

Be reliable and dependable.
