Position: Web Developer

Location: San Antonio,TX

Duration: 6 Months Contract

JOB SUMMARY

The Web Developer is responsible for facilitating the design and development of Web pages and custom Web-based applications for client Internet, intranet and extranet sites. Maintains and supports existing design content and Web-based applications. Integrates Web user interface standards, usability guidelines, design guidelines, HTML page design and development methods to ensure overall quality of the sites.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Creates and edits Web pages and graphical content for Internet, intranet and extranet and e-commerce sites.

• Develops and maintains Web-based applications and designs.

• Conducts usability testing for Web pages and Web applications before implementation.

• Troubleshoots issues with existing or developed Web-based applications.

• Produces graphic sketches, designs, and copy layouts for online content.

• Applies principles of layout and aesthetic design.

• Maintains standards for Internet and site content development and site management.

• Assists in evaluating third-party products and services for accomplishing Web strategies beyond the scope of in-house capabilities.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Associate’s Degree in computer science, electronic media or related field from an institution accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency.

• Three years’ designing and developing of Web pages and Web-based applications.

• Fluent in the use of HTML and Web application languages.

• Proficient in the use of industry-standard Web authoring tools.

• Proficient in the use of graphic and desktop publishing software.

• Proficient in the use of relational database software applications.

• Proficient in the use of Win 98/NT/2000/XP.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficient in the use of Content Management Tools (e.g. ModX, WordPress, Drupal).
