Great opportunity for a Coordinator of Transplant in the New York City Area!

Summary:

The Coordinator of Transplant Services is part of the hospital administrative team and assists with the organization, direction, management and evaluation of patient care services for the Transplant Service areas.

Ensures efficient and economical performance in accordance with operating budgets, goals, and objectives.

Accountable and responsible for successfully developing, promoting, implementing, and achieving the Hospital’s strategic plans for research and patient care for the transplant program.

Development of policies and procedures, as well as recruitment, education, evaluation and supervision of the transplant staff.

Responsible for all clinical regulation, care management, and their governing body ruling changes as they pertain to Transplant.

Works closely with a variety of entities, coordinating the activities of Transplant operations across the enterprise and represents the interests of Transplant at all times.

Works closely with pre-admission services, operative services, radiology, pharmacy, lab, surgery, nursing and others to coordinate best practice care.

Develops, implements and manages continuous quality improvement initiatives for the transplant program.

Responsible for regulatory reporting compliance to include but not limited to UNOS, CMS, DHSR and JCAHO.

Establishes and maintains communications with local and national organizations, agencies and professional associates to share information relating to the development and operation of the Transplant Program and to its functions.

Participates with Medical Director and hospital administration in strategic planning process.

Provides leadership in developing a strategic plan, which addresses community and regional issues regarding education, service and research.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing

Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Services, Nursing, Business or related field preferred

Certification / Licensure:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure

Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred

Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC); Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC); Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse (CCTN); Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP) preferred

Experience:

Must have 2-5 years of coordinating and/or managing a kidney transplant program required

Special Skills:

UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing) and OTTR (Organ Transplant Tracking Record) experience preferred.

Position also requires organized planning, strong communications skills, knowledge of the research process and the ability to facilitate multidisciplinary groups.

Knowledge of clinical databases is needed.

Basic computer skills required.
