Immunohistochemistry Support Specialist - Healthcare Sciences

(Histotechnician / Histotechnologist)

Position: Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Support Specialist

Schedule: Full Time

Location: Baltimore, MD

*This position requires traveling within assigned region 75% of the time which means you will be away from home about 3 nights per week. Travel expenses are reimbursed, a company car and gas card is provided, and meals are paid for while traveling.

Job Responsibilities

As an Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Support Specialist you will provide in field technical applications support for a range of automated immunohistochemistry instrumentation and reagents. In doing so this role helps to achieve regional sales and profitability goals within the assigned territory.

Additional responsibilities of the Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Support Specialist include:

• Installation and Evaluation of IHC Instrumentation in the region

• Evaluation of antibodies and probes

• Build in-depth understanding of new product technologies and their applications in a diagnostic immunohistopathology environment.

• In a team environment, design and perform investigation of tough technical applications.

• Follow up for customer complaint to ensure total customer satisfaction.

• Install and conduct applications support and training

• Prepare weekly territory status reports.

Immunohistochemistry Support Specialist - Healthcare Sciences

(Histotechnician / Histotechnologist)

Job Requirements

Successful candidates for the Immunohistochemistry Support Specialist should have experience with IHC histology sand have the ability to travel up to 75% of the time within their assigned region. Someone with ASCP certifications in histology such as HT, HTL, IHC or QIHC would be a good fit for this role.

Additional requirements of the Immunohistochemistry Support Specialist role include:

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, preferred

• In depth understanding of IHC Histology including troubleshooting and maintenance of analyzers

• 1 - 3 years of experience as a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist with a practical focus on IHC

• Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills

• Excellent customer relations and customer service skills

• Ability to travel on a flexible schedule 75% of the time
