Census Bureau Jobs - Census Bureau Field Representatives Needed in the San Antonio metro area (Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Medina and Wilson counties, TX). We are recruiting for the American Housing Survey, which collects data on the Nation's housing, including apartments, single-family homes, mobile homes, vacant housing units, household characteristics, income, housing and neighborhood quality, housing costs, equipment and fuels, size of housing unit, and recent movers.

Employment is Temporary, Part-Time (20-40 hrs/week). All interested applicants must be over the age of 18, pass a background check, be a U.S. Citizen, and pass a written test and interview. Pay rate is $12.33 per hour plus $0.54 per mile. Applicants are also required to have a valid driver's license and regular access to an insured reliable vehicle as well as a private telephone.

The American Housing Survey will be conducted May through August, 2017 with one-week training sessions occurring in April, 2017. After the American Housing Survey is complete, you may be considered for other survey interviewing work we have, depending on availability of the work and your performance on this survey.

Job duties

The interviews are conducted using a laptop computer, which is provided to you by the government. Interviews are conducted by either personal visit's or by telephone. You must be available to meet respondents at their request -- this will usually include evening and weekend hours, and work in all types of areas and neighborhoods. The assignment area covers the county in which you live and surrounding counties, thus a reliable working vehicle is required. You will also be expected to work on additional work when it arises.
