Job Description:

Provides analytical support to client groups.

Analytical research and development activities will include literature searches, analytical method development, test procedure writing, analytical method validation, and method transfer.

Analyzes early stage prototypes, lab samples, pilot plant samples, production samples, stability samples and competitor samples.

Possesses extensive knowledge of various laboratory instruments like HPLC, GC, AA, Dissolution, IC, etc.

Role Summary

An analytical chemist position is available in the Culture Process Development group of Bioprocess R&D and Pfizer, Chesterfield MO.

The successful applicant will join a team of scientists and engineers focused on developing and optimizing mammalian cell culture processes for recombinant proteins and biologics for early- and late-phase clinical trials.

In this role you will be responsible for running current in-process analytics for all up-stream bioreactor processes, data analysis and appropriate documentation.

Further responsibilities will include analytical research and development activities will include literature searches, analytical method development, test procedure writing, analytical method validation, and method transfer.

The work will also involve working with pilot scale, commercial and clinical production facilities to ensure accurate technology transfer and successful large-scale production.

You may also be involved in cutting edge technology development projects that seek to discover broadly applicable methods to intensify mammalian cell culture.

Position requires working knowledge of mammalian cell culture, protein purification techniques and various laboratory instruments like HPLC, GC, AA, Dissolution, IC, etc.

Additional requirements are excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and report writing.

Knowledge of LCMS, capillary electrophoresis and GCMS are desirable.
