JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Clinical Director is a licensed mental health professional with responsibility for providing clinical leadership of the Assisted Group Living Department. Under the direct supervision of the AGL Administrator this position is responsible for provision and direction of a program of clinical supervision and oversight for all direct care personnel, coordination with case management agencies, monitoring quality of service provision and advocacy for needed services. This is a highly skilled professional position which provides clinical leadership to the behavioral health team including service plan development, clinical behavioral health interventions, documentation, and staff clinical oversight and training to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises the clinical team.

Provides ongoing clinical support and clinical oversight to the Adult Behavioral Health Therapeutic Foster Care (ABHTFC) program and the AGL program.

Maintains the clinical oversight of the Outpatient Treatment Center license as the Collaborating Healthcare Institution for the sponsor program.

Provides counseling to the ABHTFC program participants and AGL participants as needed and clinically indicated. Responsible for the quality provision of counseling services provided to the programs.

Oversees and participates in the admission, discharge planning and placement processes.

Provides/documents clinical oversight for assigned BHT’s within licensing guidelines.

Creates counseling content for in-home groups. Reviews documentation of the counseling

Develops individual service plans and behavior management plans according to departmental guidelines and best practices.

Directly responsible for the quality monitoring and compliance of clinical services and documentation directed toward achieving quality outcomes and services for our residents.

Provides leadership for the training and education of staff.Participates in creating/maintaining the department training plan.

Participates in case reviews and makes recommendations for care enhancements.

Provides on-call administrative coverage.

Intervenes in crises to facilitate appropriate services.

Completes incident reports and follow-up with outside agencies as required.

Assists Administrator with policy and procedure development and review as it pertains to clinical needs

Acts as a liaison with clients, stakeholders and service team members to facilitate client needs.

Serves as team member on various committees and quality management teams.

Participates in Utilization Management (UM) functions with internal and external stakeholders.

Interfaces with Adult Day Health Services team and serves as clinical support.

Problem solves with clients and service team members.

Participates in the Performance and Quality Improvement initiative at the agency and program level, by suggesting performance improvements and performing other PQI duties as requested.

Participates in external meetings as necessary to represent the department.

Provides training, consultation and support to families and other caregivers as needed.

Acts as a role model in maintaining standards of client care.

Prepares monthly reports and service documentation.

Participates in regular staff meetings and other forms of communication with staff.

Develops various client assessments and utilizes them to create treatment plans.

Participates in ATFP admissions, discharges and service updates as needed.

Other duties as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:

Behavioral Health Professional Certification (LCSW,LPC,LMFT)

Must have, or be able to obtain, a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Department of Public Safety background check/fingerprint clearance process.

5+ years’ experience in the mental health field

Minimum of two years’ experience in a clinical managerial capacity

Experience with the adult SMI population

Comprehensive understanding of the treatment of psychiatric illness/drugs

High level knowledge of state and local regulatory requirements

Comprehensive knowledge and experience with behavioral management

Excellent communication skills; superior writing skills.

Basic computer skills.

Must not have any restrictions for physical work for which reasonable accommodation cannot be made.

Teaching/training experience
