Manager of Education
Responsible for the cost-effective leadership and management, quality of care and service, and clinical practice of nursing for the designated units / clinical areas.
Manages the Nursing Departments to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with current Federal, State and company standards, guidelines and regulations.
Plans and maintains a staffing pattern within budgeting parameters incorporating continuity of care, staff competency, patient acuity and length of stay, programmatic changes, technology and other factors that impact patient care and staff’s ability to deliver care.
Facilitates the incorporation of evidenced based practice and nursing research into practice and operations.
Evaluates patient care delivery through written documentation, observation, and comparison to establish standards.
Initiates corrective action when indicated and or uses feedback to improved service delivery. Achieves HCAHPS goals for nursing.
Manages the operations of the unit to ensure smooth and efficient patient care management and resource utilization.
Conducts the nursing process – assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation – under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse licensure.
Manages and facilitates patient centered nursing care for designated patient populations by serving as a real-time clinical expert for unit staff and physicians for escalated problem-solving on patients, processes, and family issues.
Shares responsibility for employee engagement, recruitment and retention.
Demonstrates leadership through coaching, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and development opportunities to create a culture of learning.
Bachelor’s of Science Nursing required
Masters of Nursing preferred
Certifications / Licensure:
Current State Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) preferred
BCLS Instructor required within 1 year of hire
5-7 years Nurse Educator in Acute Care setting required
Minimum 2 years experience in nursing management at an administrative level
Must be able to work under deadlines and utilize independent decision making skills in a wide variety of situations
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage and inspire a team
