Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opportunity for a civilian Medical Laboratory Technician, at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, in Jacksonville, NC for Transfusion Services/Blood Donor Center.

This contract position offers:

• 7 day work week-rotation (36 hours 1 week; 40 hours 2nd week) rotating weekends

• 6 month days-6 month night

• Competitive Pay

• Up to 8 hours of PTO per pay period

• 10 paid Federal Holidays-working some holidays

Job Requirements:

The Position will have the following requirements:

• Graduation from a medical laboratory technician training program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).

• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT), or state licensure as a medical laboratory technician.

• Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience within the proceeding 2 years as a Medical Laboratory Technician.

Some duties include:

• Accepting patient samples

• Select appropriate blood products or transfusion

• Perform equipment and reagent Quality Control

• Use Blood Bank Management System

• Troubleshoot testing discrepancies and equipment malfunctions

• communicate effectively with superviosrs,co-workers, physicians etc. for proper blood bank techniques and procedures
