Direct Hire Operations Manager opening within innovative, supportive and energized global organization in Western NY with FANTASTIC GROWTH POTENTIAL in title and compensation!

REPORTING TO: Plant Manager

DIRECT REPORTS: Cell Leaders, Process leaders, Direct hourly personnel

SUMMARY: Operations Manager for Jamestown Operation. Business employees approximately 525 associates, with approximately 100 at the Jamestown site. Position is responsible for Plant-wide daily operations including achieving Quality delivery and cost targets.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Successfully working alongside Quality Manager, Engineering Manager and Material Buyers, etc.

• Lead and Manage Cell Leaders, Process Leaders, direct hourly personnel and develop associates in a manner which meets the future needs of the business and annually preparing an HR plan to identify key contributors and areas of organizational and individual development.

• Responsible for all daily safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics within the Production areas of the plant.

• Operate within approved budget boundaries and achieve operating performance targets, using company business systems tools to drive continuous process improvements in quality, on-time delivery, cost savings and inventory reduction.

• Accountable for meeting needs of a growing business by managing production levels and driving delivery and productivity.

• Develop associates in a manner which meets the future needs of the business and annually preparing an HR plan to identify key contributors and areas of organizational and individual development.

• Conduct and deliver annual performance appraisals for hourly associates. Generate development plans to drive associate growth.

• Engage with associates to maintain positive associate relations, partnering with HR and utilizing tools such as associate survey.

• Lead the production start-up phase for new product introduction utilizing manufacturing engineering resources. Also, responsible for driving lower product costs by reducing set up times, improving processes and reducing cycle times.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment that is in compliance with all OSHA (US), and EPA (US) any related country specific environmental regulations and guidelines.

6 Month Targets/Deliverables:

• Complete company business immersion

• Execute Jamestown Immersion

• Execute PSP ( Personal Software Process) and demonstrate results

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree (BS Mechanical or Industrial Engineering) is required

• Strong computer skills

• Minimum of 5 years Manufacturing Management and Supervisor skills and experience

• 7-10 years Manufacturing expertise

• Purchasing / Negotiation Skill

• Organization/Planning skill

• Business Competencies to include critical thinking skills - decision-making ability, long-term vision and ability to inspire a common vision; the ability to work independently and drive change while maintaining operational effectiveness; Skilled in employee supervision, planning, coordination, budget preparation, contract negotiations, and labor relations; Understanding of key financial indicators and success factors; Strong analytical skills and problem solving; the ability to become entrenched and experienced in the Company lines of business.

• Leadership Competencies to include the ability to foster teamwork and employee accountability, inspire trust and integrity; the ability to Mentor and develop employee skills; Personal depth, in the form of mature confidence, adaptability, self-direction, and organization; Skilled in managing diversity; Outstanding communication skills and a high energy level and work ethic; Must be committed to the Company core values of integrity, openness and trust, accountability, excellence through teamwork, and continuous learning and development.

• Must pass a physical and drug test.

SALARY

• Hiring salary range will be flexible based on experience and education. Position also offers competitive benefits package and bonus.
