Software Engineer – Systems and Devices

TxMQ is currently assisting their client in the search for a qualified Systems and Devices Software Engineer for their manufacturing facility in central Connecticut.

REPORTING TO: Engineering Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Design and develop software as a service and some industrial process control applications.

• Assist with operations as needed.

• Develop and maintain requirements and specifications documents.

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in computer science, computer engineering, or related field and three to five years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of experience and/or training and education.

• 3-5 years experience with C++ and C# required

• 3-5 years experience development with the SQL language. Experience with PostgreSQL a plus.

• Some web development experience preferred with Javascript, php or jQuery.

• Ability to develop in Linux and MS environments

• Some bash scripting experience required

• Strong communications and organizational skills is required

• Some knowledge of computer networks, web protocols, TCP/IP.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

• Communication and/or critical thinking skills to include: The ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence in English; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or customers; Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language.

• Mathematical skills to include Statistical Analysis: Probabilities, Combinatorics, as well as Calculus: Discrete Math, Calculus II, Differential Equations
