Last year, the Arkansas Teacher Corps (ATC) received over 300 urgent requests for classroom teachers from schools serving predominantly low-income and minority students in Arkansas. Every student deserves an outstanding educator working to ensure they meet their full potential. Arkansas Teacher Corps serves these students and communities by providing them with caring and committed teachers focused on empowering all of their students. Our teachers come from many different backgrounds, but they all share something in common: they see social inequality and they do something about it every day.

ATC is seeking candidates from all backgrounds or majors to become teachers for Arkansas students who need them most. The individuals who are accepted into the Arkansas Teacher Corps are given a direct opportunity to serve children and give back to the state. Fellows’ geographic and subject-area preferences are taken into consideration during the teacher placement process.

During their Fellowship, Fellows receive ongoing coaching and professional development. Upon completion of the Fellowship, Fellows earn their standard 5-year Arkansas teaching license. Fellows receive a regular teaching salary paid by their district and an additional $15,000 stipend from ATC over the course of a 3-year commitment.
